Take the edge off your reality

My tagline is that my art is for those whose reality is less than.

Well my reality is ugly. Having a stoma is just ugly and repulsive. There is this stoma bag, dangling from your belly. I haven’t seen myself in a full body mirror for 10 years. The feeling of the stoma on my stomach is just disgusting.

But what were the options I had? Well, all of them involved dying while screaming in pain. I know that a lot of people, self-help and otherwise tell you to accept it and try to make it a part of you. No, thanks. A) I am pretty matter-of-fact about almost everything. So if you look at a biology book that thing, that stoma is just not natural. B) the stoma will never be a part of me, just a thing that allows me to live.

I hate it with a vengeance and actually, all of those who kind of embrace it - deep down I think they are liars practicing some auto hypnosis to manipulate themselves into acceptance. Make no mistake: A stoma is degrading, ugly, repulsive and just plain disgusting. But it beats the alternative.

So with AI Art, especially this peacock I can surround myself with beauty so outrageous and amazing that it takes the edge off my reality. Is it a painting or a photo? This one is imitable because it comes from a place where only I can go to.
